Valley View has a Jr. Hope Squad this year! Mrs. Kate Anderson is the Jr. Hope Squad Advisor. The Jr. Hope Squad is made up of 4-6 grade students who were nominated by their peers for being students who are kind, a friend to all, and who are easy to talk to. The Squad promotes kindness, including everyone, anti-bully messages, and facilitate fun recess activities. They are currently holding a reading club at morning recess on Wednesdays.
Valley View has the Utah STEM school Silver Designated given by the Utah STEM Action Center. We will be applying to upgrade out designation to Platinum this year.
Our vision is to create an intentional, systematic approach to teaching science, technology, engineering, and math through project-based learning focusing on critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. Our goal is to inspire and engage students to pursue STEM learning as they move on to Jr. High and High school in order to prepare them for the careers of the future.

We are partnering with Apple and DSD to bring 1:1 Apple devices to all students K-6 this year. Apple will be on site Oct. 8-10 and in April to provide hands on training to all classroom teachers using apps such as Apple Classroom, Clips. AR, Pages, Keynote, iMovie, etc.
Teachers were trained on using the program during the Professional Day on Sept. 3, 2019. Students can access this program from home to practice literacy skills. This tool helps teachers personalize literacy for students.
